That looks amazing. I just read Fight Night, which is also suffused with sadness, but terribly funny at the same time. Is All My Puny Sorrows funny?

I think Allison Pill as Yoli, the main character, is wry, sarcastic and clever, in the right amounts for me. I don't think the film is funny in any absurd sense, though.
