I'm From the Government; I'm Here to Help

I don't think I'm going to be too fond of Prime Minister Paul Martin. (In general, I think I'm afraid of Finance Ministers becoming Prime Ministers). Part of me is hoping (probably pointlessly) that his step to the right is just posturing for a Spring election and that he'll be a Real Liberal after that.

Do you think it's true what they say? That we get the government we deserve?

Ye ghods, I hope not -- that would imply that we deserve Shrub. I mean, it's not like we actually elected him....

Unfortunately, I think we get the government they deserve.

I think we may get the government that the Majority deserve.

Unfortunately... well, refer to previous posts on the Majority.

Heh, I've not had much faith in Paul Martin since he started talking about trying to improve relations with the US. This is one country that requires obedience, and they really don't deserve it. I'd rather see Martin keeping the US at arm's-length, as Chretien had done; at least until we've had some effective "regime change".
