Dear John

[livejournal.com profile] expanding_x_man pointed me toward this piece of writing by Mirha-Soleil Ross.

Mirha-Soleil and I don't know each other well; we've bumped into each other in some trans events, and we have some friends in common. She coordinated a special "trans" night during Clit Lit (when it was still being held), and she played a video of one of [livejournal.com profile] expanding_x_man's readings about the intensity of testosterone-driven lust. She's definitely one of the most political and thoughtful trans people I know in Toronto.

I've always been rather fond of watching her in action actually. She's quite intelligent, devoted and she strikes me as a child of Ochun/Oxum very much with her perseverance and her enduring presence.

Thanks for the article link!!! :)

Mirha, on the couple of occasions when I've met and talked with her, always seemed to strike me in the same way that you describe her. The conversations were nice, casual discussions outside of the 519, usually around the time of Pride. She can be so exhuberant, as well. She's the kind of person who I could see enjoying interacting with on multiple occasions. I'm not sure if it's the "small doses" thing that makes me feel that way or not, though.
