One is tempted to respond that if we admitted that we had no business in Iraq, our soldiers would be opening Christmas presents at home instead of being killed by suicide bombers. I think that the American right subscribes to the "all humor is cruel" doctrine.

The thing that bugs me most about the woman is that when you go to Borders her books are sorted under "Political Science" while Al Franken's are in "Humor".

Is she trying to be funny? yes and no. Yes, in that she'll claim she was, no in that it's the sort of "hey, I was just kidding, can't you take a joke?" crap that most people who enjoy causing psychological pain pull.

It's not that she scares me, it's that she's a bestselling author and has legions of fans that scares me. Have you heard what she has to say about GLBT people?
