I was wondering how many total. (No, I'm not up on my geography. Typical American...)

Over half-way there. Bravo!

And from a population perspective, it's around 85% of the population.

Getting closer. I wish continued success on the great people of Canada. I like that this is occurring at a province by province pace because it allows those who live in the remaing six provinces to see that the world doesn't end when SSM is allowed. I'm sure Alberta will be last to pass it, but pass it they will. Perhaps that will serve as illustration enough for the American states to begin to do so also, but I'm afraid Canada is often viewed with the same disdain as French Europe.

I think I read in the Globe that PEI and one other (NB?) want to wait for the Supreme Court to deal with it. I don't imagine that Alberta will change it by themselves either.

7 prov9inces and it affects about 85% of the population, Ralph of Alberta has said that he will do whatever he can to block it ever being performed in his province... but at this point I think his tantrum is being politely ignored.
