Looks like a DNS problem of some sort. nslookup on www.livejournal.com works; nslookup of bcholmes.livejournal.com doesn't, and status.livejournal.com doesn't work either.
cattitude has been noticing some intermittent connectivity issues, including with cnn.com; he was speculating that there might be a break in the east-west communications.
