If you go to Z'ha'dum, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.

bcholmes: (it's a trope!)

Not only do I have "Comedy Tonight!" as an earworm, my brain is inventing new verses. I find myself stuck replaying:

"Romans and pagans!
Dungeons and Dragons!
Popeye and spinach
Dennis Kucinich!"

My brain doesn't seem to be able to figure out the next verse, so I've got that spinning around and around in my head.

bcholmes: I was just a brain in a jar (brain thoughts)

I don't want to play in your yard.
I don't like you any more
You'll be sorry when you see me
Sliding down my cellar door.
You can't holler down my rainbarrel.
You can't climb our apple tree.
I don't want to play in your yard
If you won't be good to me.

bcholmes: (two riders were approaching)

We need no clocks to tell the hours
Only the sun on the morning flowers
Just for today, the world is ours...

When I was a kid, I spent some summers in a day camp. Camp Saredaca. Each morning, Monday to Friday, a bus would come around and take me to the camp. And we'd start the morning singing the Saredaca song:

Saredaca, Saredaca, Saredaca true
Saredaca, Saredaca, Saredaca true
I love the mountains
And the sky so blue
I love exploring
Through the bushes too
I love to live
And live to love
For all these wonderful things...

Saredaca, Saredaca, Saredaca true
Saredaca, Saredaca, Saredaca true...

It's almost the same tune as the Discovery Channel / xkcd tune that's been making the rounds. I wonder where that tune originates...? Until now, I've only ever known it as the Saredaca song.

bcholmes: (yes)

I've heard there was a secret chord that was born with the gift of a golden voice. With a crack in it; that's how the light gets in. And it's closing time.

I was looking up videos on YouTube, thinking about (Canadian) musicians when I was growing up. Can you name these bands? [Poll #1167590]

bcholmes: I’m covered in bees! (bee sea)

I've had an earworm all day.

We're gonna turn it on.
We're gonna bring you the power!
It's coming down the lines, strong as it can be

Make it stop! Please make it stop!

Last night, coming home from work, I found myself with an ear worm. I kept singing to myself, "Goin' to the capsule, and I'm... gonna get maa-aa-aarried."

And then, after a surprisingly long time, I was, like, "capsule?"
