I'm sorry, but if your company now sells WBW1 T-shirts, you can't claim "to promote visibility, unity and self esteem amongst Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans-gendered persons."

1 WBW = Women Born Women (by which the speakers usually mean Cis women).

Edit: the original site in question has removed the T-shirt design. Good for them!

Ewwwww. but what is our problem with the Axes? Is it only when used as a symbol of radfem bullshit and exclusivity? Because I, um, have a labrys ax tattooed on my arm, with a whole different gender context to it.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry. Yes, it's with the radfem bullshit. I find the use of axes with transmysogony really gross. I should have clarified, I'm sorry.

okay, cool. I find it extremely fucking gross too, because My axe is all, like, personal and genderqueer and trans and tied up with the amazons and I feel much more fucking reasonable use of the symbolism, and then it turns out the radfems claimed it for their trans hate and evil fucking bullshit. I was so psyched when the feminist bookstore had My axe as a pendant, but then I found out how radfems were using the symbol. So, yeah. I feel ya.

Do a word search on the page. Two of the shirts are Gildan.

oh, geez. it took me five minutes to figure out what the problem was with the shirts because it didn't even occur to me that people were still admitting to that particular form of asshattery enough to be commercially worthwhile. jesus haploid christ.

no, you would not. :)

feeling a need to dig myself deeper-- i knew people still thought this sort of shit. i just did not know that people still thought they could make money on it. i still say ugh to that, both to capitalism and to people being idiots.
